Mumbai went crazy on Friday at Phoenix Market City where the powerhouse entertainer and one of Bollywood’s most successful singers Mika Singh enthralled everyone with his breathtaking performance. If you are a big fan of Bollywood music but failed to attend this musical concert, then let me just say, you missed a lot of fun. Mika Singh, along with his band, performed live without any lip-syncing or recorded songs and at no point did the performer's energy dropped.
Although Mika came in one and a half hour late, the excitement of the audiences did not seem to die down. The video of his international song 2 Shots kept playing throughout followed by the anchor Simran Ahuja talking about Mika and his first international collaboration for the upcoming biopic on one of the greatest artists, Tupac, All Eyez On Me.
After a long wait, finally, the superstar ascended on the stage and began performing the lively Dama Dam while taking the audience by storm. The magic in his voice was clearly visible as hordes of people got intoxicated listening to him. And then there was no stopping as Mika went on giving more and more spectacular performances singing his most acclaimed hits like Gandi Baat, Dhanno, Mauja Hi Mauja, Singh is King and so on. From the Sufi track Dama Dam to old classics like Roop Tera Mastana, Mika performed something for everyone. The multi-talented artist not just sang and danced but also played drums with complete swag thus winning loud cheers from the audiences.
The event also saw heartthrob Karan Singh Grover showing off his abs on stage while also joining Mika in singing the singer’s first sensation Something Something featured on the beautiful Urvashi Sharma. The charisma of Mika made everyone dance like a true Bollywood fan to all his foot tapping numbers. One particular fan aged somewhere around 50s entertained everyone with his hilarious drunk dancing. One more thing worth noticing was the efforts Mika’s band put thereby helping the star perform like a legend.
One of the last songs Mika sang was the evergreen Saawan Me Lag Gayi Aag that added spice to the already romantic mood set by the rains outside. At the end of such an enigmatic performance, Mika Singh was still as energetic as he was in the beginning thus setting an example for many other performers who fool the audiences in the name of performing live. The younger generation needs to learn a lot from this powerhouse of talent.
Definitely, one of the best musical concerts I have ever attended in my life. If you ever get a chance to watch this acclaimed singer perform live, do not miss it at any cost. Catch him at the Swag fest on 10th March.
