Amol Palekar, the veteran actor, director and producer best known for playing the unassuming boy next door in iconic films such as Gol Maal, Choti Si Baat, Rajnigandha and Baaton Baaton Mein, will return to his second love, theatre (the first being art). He directs and plays the lead in a Hindi thriller titled Kusur (The Mistake), which will premiere on Sunday, November 24 at the NCPA in Mumbai and run until Sunday, December 1 in theatres in the city and Pune.

An adaptation of the Danish thriller Den Skylidge, Kusur has been written by his wife, Sandhya Gokhale. Palekar essays the role of retired assistant police commissioner Dandavate, whose life changes over the course of the night he volunteers at a police control room. One phonecall leads to a series of twists and turns, and when Dandavate leaves the control room, he’s a changed man.
