Here’s a quick round-up of events at G5A Foundation for Contemporary Culture, an intimate theatre with a cute cafe attached, in Mahalaxmi.


Watch Sumantra Ghosal’s film The Unseen Sequence: Exploring bharatanatyam through the art of Malavika Sarukkai (11am). The screening will be followed by a lecture-demonstration by Sarukkai (3.30pm) and a bharatanatyam performance by Navia Natarajan (5.30pm).
When: Sunday, January 19 at 11am, 3.30pm and 5.30pm

‘Gentlemen’s Club’

Puja Sarup, Sheena Khalid, Rachel D’Souza, Ratnabali Bhattacharjee, Mukti Mohan and Amey Mehta make up the cast in this fun English drama about a bunch of drag kings, that is, women who impersonate men. Sarup plays a drag king who does a Shammi Kapoor-inspired act and Khalid channels Justin Timberlake as JT.
When: Friday, January 24 at 6pm and 9pm.
