If you’ve spent a long time in Mumbai, you already know what the weather is all year round – hot and humid. One of the perks of living by the sea is the moderate temperature, but it’s also one of the cons. To experience anything resembling a winter, you have to travel far but with Snow Kingdom located at R-City Mall in Ghatkopar, you get the throw snowballs without stepping out of Mumbai.
Opened recently in May, Snow Kingdom already attracts plenty of visitors. And it’s all for a good reason. There are also many fun activities beyond the snow to keep you entertained, with much more to come. A double slide at the center is one of the highlights of the attractions. Suitable for all ages, it gives you the thrill of rushing down a slope with your ending cushioned by the snow. There is also a disco corner with lights and a DJ playing foot-tapping music where you can bust out your moves.
From the moment you step into the shivering cold to when you step out of it, you will be transported to a land of snow that’s unlike anything you might have experienced before. Even when you come out, Snow Kingdom offers warm food and beverages. There’s also a temporary tattoo booth that kids will enjoy.
One more often overlooked but an important part of Snow Kingdom is its focus on cleanliness and hygiene. The snow is made with purified water and changed every few months. It’s as soft as any snow you’d experience in the Himalayas. The snow gear that you wear – including boots, socks, jacket, and mittens – are all washed after a single use.
One ticket gets you 45 chilly minutes at the Snow Kingdom, which is plenty to those unaccustomed to negative degree temperatures. It’s best enjoyed with a group so it makes for a perfect outing with friends or family. You don’t have to worry about clicking pictures of this event – there is a team of photographers that will capture the best moments on camera.
Snow Kingdom is open all days of the week and it’s a delightful experience that you have to visit at least once. You can book your tickets for the experience here.
