Sunset Cinema Club has been a blessing for all those movie buffs who wish to watch their favorite classics in an open space environment. Last weekend, the group organized a screening of two masterpieces Forrest Gump and When Harry Met Sally at one of the most iconic and well-known places in Mumbai, Razzberry Rhinoceros in Juhu. If you have already visited the place you would know the serene ambiance coupled with lip-smacking food the venue offers.
After being overhauled, Razzberry Rhinoceros is now an open-air venue, which is a welcome, pleasant surprise. Sitting on the chair in the open ground, I was delighted at the sight of the Arabian Sea directly in front of me. With glittering lights decorating the palm trees and the wind brushing across my face bringing the aroma of the sea, the place looked divine at dusk. Before the screening began, the audience was treated to a small musical session by Vernon Noronha who lightened up the mood of everyone present as he strummed his guitar softly.
Soon, everyone got settled with a pint of beer and food in their hands and the movie began. Forrest Gump is one of the most celebrated classics in Hollywood’s history that features an overwhelming performance by Tom Hanks as Forrest, Forrest Gump, a little stupid but an extraordinary man who narrates his life experiences with such enthusiasm that you would want to listen to him all night.
Though the screening took place in an open-air venue, initially the acoustics was a bit screechy but as the movie progressed, the sound quality got better. An intermission served the perfect break for the audience to refill their glasses. The food and beverages served at the venue was a bit expensive but was totally worth all the money.
I would suggest everyone visit this place and enjoy the comfort of the open air setting preferably with a loved one or with your friends by your side. To watch such a classic on the big screen was a wonderful experience. The next time a screening takes place at Razzberry, do not miss it. Stay tuned for more updates on the same.
