The 32 year-old musician is now one of the leading figures in the World music scene. Being the daughter of one of the musical maestros, Pt. Ravi Shankar, Anoushka started her training at an early age of nine. She gave her first public performance when she was 13 at Siri Fort Auditorium in New Delhi. From then there was no looking back. Anoushka started accompanying her father at concerts around the world. She recorded her first album, Anoushka in 1998. Among other accolades, Anoushka was also twice-nominated for the coveted Grammy Award. She was the first Indian musician to perform at the Grammy Awards in 2006 when she was nominated for her album, Rise.
