Going by the textbook definition of the word, a musician is a talented person who either plays a musical instrument or composes, conducts, or performs music. The list we have for you today though is anything but that. It's sometimes a shame many people call themselves 'musicians' or 'artists'. They must stop embarrassing themselves and stop blemishing the beautiful art of music. Sometimes we hope they're trolling, they better be. Then again, do you blame such artists who suddenly find success because of a catchy tune, a random video or people who actually make such efforts popular? Today, we have listed five such artists, who think they can sing, and got popular for work that while critically panned climbed popularity charts rapidly. Check them out.

1. Psy – Gangnam Style
Perhaps the most 'credible' on this list only because it is not in English and is actually appreciated in Korean. But even then, how did this become YouTube's first ever video to hit one billion views? As of today, it remains the most viewed as well, with a whopping 2.7 billion views.

2. PPAP – Pikotaro
Often cited as the 'new Gangnam Style' and we can see why. Maybe we could excuse this as a troll since it is by a fictional singer created and portrayed by Japanese comedian Daimaou Kosaka.

3. Vennu Malesh – It's My Life, What Ever I Wanna Do
Classic example of a guy who thinks he can sing and moreover thinks he's actually doing a great job. Okay buddy, we get it, it's your life, but please don't make such songs.

4. Taher Shah – Eye To Eye
A legend born on the other side of the border, he has been titled as `Pakistan’s Most Spectacular Internet Celebrity` by Dawn. Our friendly neighbour still trends steadily, now with his last track called Angel, which might make you tear up.

5. Rebecca Black – Friday
Annoying even when I hear the title of the song, let alone the song itself. With 2.5 million dislikes out of a total 103 million views, we do pity the girl, I mean, she's still a teenager.
