The twenty-first edition of Thespo, the annual youth theatre initiative that gives theatrewallahs under the age of 25, a platform will take place from Monday, December 16 to Friday, December 20. Here are the plays that you need to check out.

‘Bain’

A family grapples with their religious identity in the face of adversity in this Urdu drama by writer-director Vishal Sonawane.
When: Tuesday, December 17 at 6pm and 9pm.

‘Baksa’

A silent play from by writer-director Amrith Jayan, exploring the struggles of the common man in an unforgiving capitalist society. The play is based on German psychologist Wolfgang Kohler’s study of anthropoid apes, The Mentality of Apes.
When: Wednesday, December 18 at 6pm and 9pm.

‘Sane Ani Company’

In this Marathi play by writer Jaywardhan Khot and director Devendra Charankar and set in 1950, a theatre troupe faces the challenges of putting on plays based in realism rather than the sangeet nataks that were the norm at the time.
When: Thursday, December 19 at 6pm and 9pm.

‘Agni Aur Barkha’

From writer Girish Karnad, a play in Hindi about human struggles in a drought-stricken society. The play is directed by Mansi Rawat, Jyotsna Kataria, Arpit Singh, Harshit Singh and Shivam Bawaria.
When: Friday, December 20 at 6pm and 9pm.
