New Week New Jokes

Trapped With Comics

The stand-up comedy show featuring Sonali Thakker, Ashutosh Gupta and Vaibhav Sethia sounds like a pretty enjoyable trap if you ask us.

Mic Check

Watch comics Saurav Mehta, Vinay Sharma and Aman Jotwani figure out which jokes work as they try out their new material.

Variety Night

One host, eight comics and one main act…The show will feature comedians such as Siddharth Dudeja, Naveen Richard, Mandar Bhide and, the big cheese, Aditi Mittal (pictured above).

Yaadon Ki Baaraat

Listen to singers such as Alok Katdare, Subhash Sareen and Ankita Pathak sing legendary songs from Hindi movies at this show conceptualised by Devang Thakkar and arranged by Milind Acharekar.

Thursday Live

At this week’s edition of Thursday Live, listen to Petula and No Strings Attached, which will play 1970s and 80’s rock hits as well as retro Hindi hits by the likes of RD Bruman and Asha Bhosle.

Aap Ke Anurodh Pe

Written, directed and performed by Devang Tewari, the English drama Gigolo tells the chilling story of Murli, a runaway kid from rural Andhra Pradesh who became one of the country’s most notorious criminals, killing over 17 people in under a year.

‘Akal ki Pudiya’

This Hindi play directed by Nivedita Baunthiyal for ages six and above is about little Bhanu, who  buys some wisdom from Chatura and earns the disapproval of his father.
When: Thursday, June 6 at 4pm and Friday, June 7 at noon and 4pm.
Where: Prithvi Theatre 20 Janki Kutir, Juhu Church Road.

‘Jis Lahore Nahi Dekhya’

Ank’s long-running drama, the classic Hindi play written by Asghar Wajahat and directed by Dinesh Thakur, is set in 1947. It tells the story of an old Hindu woman in Lahore, who after losing her family during Partition refuses to leave her home, which has been allotted to a Muslim refugee family from Lucknow. Desperate, the Muslim family enlist local thugs to get rid of her. However human kindness and decency ultimately prevail.
When: Friday, June 7 at 9pm.
