There’s good news for Indian hip-hop fans in the country. American rapper and singer-songwriter Wiz Khalifa is scheduled to visit India for a two-city tour this September. Sunburn Arena has announced that the hip-hop superstar will be doing two solo shows in Delhi and Mumbai on Saturday, September 14 and Sunday, September 15, respectively.
The multi-platinum star is a favourite among the hip-hop loving community in India. He earlier toured India in 2017 for a three-city tour with electronic dance music (EDM) artist Kygo, and performed at Timeout 72, the multi-genre music festival in Goa.
Wiz Khalifa, whose real name is Cameron Jibril Thomaz, released his debut album in 2006. However, his shot to fame was his 2010 single ‘Black and Yellow’, which went to number one on the Billboard Top 100. The Grammy-winning artist’s other hits include ‘Remember You’, ‘We Dem Boyz’ and ‘See You Again’.
His last album Rolling Papers 2 was released in 2018 and featured Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Gucci Mane, PartyNextDoor, Snoop Dogg, Swae Lee and Ty Dolla Sign as guest artists.
