After giving a series of duds, Mammookka is back with a bang! With his recent success at the box office with the thriller movie The Great Father, Mammookka seems to be in his element. His upcoming film set to hit the big screen on the 12th of April, 2017 is the directorial project of ace filmmaker Ranjith titled Putha
The film is definitely one of the most awaited films this year as Ranjith and Mammootty have once again joined hands after a while. Their previous films include Pranchiyettan and the Saint, Paleri Manikyam and Kadal Kadannoru Maathukutti.
The 2-minute long trailer for Puthan Panam was recently launched and it received excellent response from the viewers. As seen in the trailer, the film is based on the issue of demonetization, black money and the financial situation that demonetization brought about in our country. Mammootty is seen playing the role of a middle-aged businessman from Kasargod named Nityananda Shenoy. He is seen using the Kasargod dialect, which has become the highlight of the trailer.
Interestingly, this will not be the first time the veteran actor will be using a different dialect. For the movie Pranchiyettan and the Saint, he used the Thrissur dialect while in Rajamanikyam (2005) he used the Trivandrum dialect and made the dialogue Thale ivan puli aanu ketto an instant hit among the audience. The actor who is known as the King of dialects also used the Malabar dialect in Bavuttiyude Namathil and Kottayam dialect in Kottayam Kunjachan.
The film is called the 'New Indian Rupee' as it is believed to be a different take on Ranjith's National Award winning film Indian Rupee (2011).
If you haven't watched the trailer of this film that is touted to be a mass entertainer, you can watch it right here and don't forget to catch the film tomorrow!
