Noor, which is based on Saba Imtiaz's book, Karachi: You're Killing Me, is scheduled to hit theatres on April 21.
Director: Sunhil Sippy
Producer: Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra
Editor: Aarif Sheikh
Music: Amaal Mallik
Casting Directors: Sharon Flynn & Omkar Ketkar
Background & Story:
Noor (Sonakshi Sinha), is the story of a young journalist, who is struggling with her love life as much as she is with her weight. Somehow her job doesn't figure high on her priority list. It is when she comes across an eye-opening investigative news story that her life takes a dramatic turn.
Filmmaker Sunhil Sippy revealed that Sonakshi Sinha was always the first choice for the role, given that she is versatile. She can be quirky and funny, but also intense. Although Sippy wasn't too sure if she was the right choice, working with her to the end cleared his doubts.
Besides Sonakshi Sinha, the film also stars Manish Choudhary, Kanan Gill, Shibani Dandekar and Purab Kohli in pivotal roles. Manish Choudhary plays Noor's boss, while Kanan Gill and Purab Kohli play her best friend and love interest, respectively. According to Sippy, each character in the film is three dimensional. This only means that their behavior will reveal something about the lead.
The trailer of the film, which has infectious charm to it, was released last month. If you haven't seen it yet, watch it here:
