There have been a lot of movies like Pink, OMG – Oh My God!, No One Killed Jessica and Jolly LLB that voiced against the big bad system. Although the premise of each movie was different, the eventual fight was against influential people did not come through on the responsibility associated with the power they weild. Jolly LLB was a surprise hit. The trailer suggested it might be another courtroom drama with some humor added but when the movie was released, people felt an instant connect with it and the premise that it was built on. Winning a National Award, there was no doubt that a sequel would be on the cards.
On February 10, Akshay Kumar will appear as Jolly LLB in the court and will bring to us another instance of a common man's fight against the injustice meted by the people with power. Akshay is known to push the envelope for the sake of his roles and we seem him in a new avatar as a lawyer with shades of grey who can resort to crazy antics for a case. The cases are said to be inspired from real court cases. He is joined by Huma Qureshi who plays his wife and supports him when needed but is not averse to rolling her eyes at her husband's grand schemes. Saurabh Shukla who won a National Award for his role in the previous movie returns as the judge. Annu Kapoor will also be seen playing a lawyer and he promises to bring his own brand of humor to the role.
The movie was shot in Chattar Manzil in Lucknow post which the shooting schedule moved to Varanasi and it was wrapped up in Kashmir.
