Background & Story:
There’s so much happening around Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The political party – MNS – has threatened to stall the release if the filmmaker doesn't cut out Fawad Khan’s scenes from the final edit. Johar is unlikely to budge as there is very little time to reshoot those portions with another actor. The Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan-starrer may be getting a lot of media attention but let’s not forget the other big Diwali-release. Shivaay is Ajay Devgn’s most ambitious film till date as he is not just the lead actor but has also directed it. Devgn’s last directorial venture was U Me Aur Hum, and it released in 2008.
Shivaay has been shot in Bulgaria, Europe. The filming was tough due to the weather conditions in the country. The unit reportedly had to shoot in sub-zero conditions but seeing how stunning the film looks, the effort seems to be worth the trouble. Shivaay marks the Bollywood-debut of Sayyeshaa Saigal, an actress who has worked in several Telugu films. Polish actress, Erika Kaar plays the second lead in the movie.Since Shivaay will be clashing with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the makers of both movies are going all out with the promotions. Things also turned ugly due to the KRK controversy. Ajay Devgn released an audio clip in which Kamaal R Khan claimed to accept money to promote films. It is reported that Karan Johar paid KRK to tweet negative content about Shivaay, but there is no evidence of the same. Unfortunately, the clash affected the friendship between Karan Johar and Kajol. The actress is miffed that KJo decided to release his film with Shivaay as it will hamper the fortunes of her husband's movie.
Shivaay tells the story of a Himalayan mountaineer, who turns into a destroyer in order to save his family. The man has to face various challenges in order to survive. Will he emerge victorious? Well, you'll have to wait for a few more days to find out as Shivaay releases on October 28th. Do check this space to read the Shivaay review on that day.
