When the news about NH10 first hit the tabloids, people went berserk about the unconventional title. Moreover, the film made it to the headlines again after Anushka Sharma decided to turn producer with the venture. But, what was so interesting about this story that propelled the Band Baaja Baaraat actress to enter production? The young starlet was bombarded with many such questions. However, the trailer answered it all. The hard-hitting thriller astonished the masses with its gritty presentation and intense story-line. Featuring Anushka Sharma and Neil Bhoopalam in the lead, the film looks fresh and promising. Watch the trailer here, if you haven’t:
Based on the story of a road trip gone awry, we seldom get to watch such unconventional topics in Hindi cinema. And with the film all set to hit the theatres this week, here are some facts you probably didn’t know about this action-thriller:
Based on true incidents:
The story is based on many incidents that have previously occurred on the stretch between Gurgaon and Haryana. The film basically throws light upon road pirates, who attack travelers or resort to kidnapping in grave cases.
Directed by Navdeep Singh, NH10 has been shot at real locations to keep the essence of the subject. However, the crew had to face a lot of issues due to unpredictable weather or no electricity. Also, shooting in small towns and jungles was a risk they had to take, as the areas were infested with local hoodlums.
Since the film was extensively shot in parts of Haryana, the actors had to listen to a lot of Haryanvi music to perfect their dialect.
Action sequences are situation-based:
The director also enlightened us with the fact that the action sequences in the film are real and situation-based. People won’t get to see flying cars as shown in other commercial films.
Cast of the film:
And last but not the least; NH10 went through a lot of changes, as far as the cast is concerned. Though Anushka Sharma was the original choice for the film, she had to turn down the offer due to prior commitments. Frieda Pinto and Sonam Kapoor were both approached for the film before the role was offered to Anushka again. On the other hand, Abhay Deol and Rajkummar Rao were also considered for Neil Bhoopalam’s role.
With so much effort put in for making this interesting thriller, there is no reason you should miss it this Friday! So, mark your calendars and hit the road with Phantom Production’s most anticipated venture of 2015, NH10.
