Dharmendra-Hema Malini, Shah Rukh Khan–Kajol, and Ranbir Kapoor–Deepika Padukone are considered as some of the best on-screen couples in Bollywood. However, last year, both SRK and Kajol, and Ranbir and Deepika failed to impress in Dilwale and Tamasha, respectively. This year, you'll get to see some new couples in Hindi movies. The soon-to-be-released film, Baaghi, has Shraddha Kapoor paired opposite Tiger Shroff, and their jodi is already considered a hit. Even Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif look like a cool couple in Karan Johar's upcoming production, Baar Baar Dekho. Towards the end of the year, Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor will be seen in Aditya Chopra's Befikre and reportedly, the film has 23 kissing scenes. We'll have to wait and see if these jodis are successful or not. After all, the below-mentioned ones failed to work.
Vidya Balan – Shahid Kapoor in Kismat Konnection
Some said she looked like his mother while the rest claimed that they’d make a better brother-sister pair. Well, either way, Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan looked like a mismatched couple. Luckily, in spite of the criticism, Kismat Konnection managed to earn a decent amount of money.
Parineeti Chopra – Aditya Roy Kapoor in Daawat-e-Ishq
With Ishaqzaade, Habib Faisal gave the superhit jodi of Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor. The director’s next film with Parineeti, Daawat-e-Ishq, was given a thumbs-down as Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur couldn't carry the film on their shoulders. There was barely any chemistry between them and the film was one of the biggest flops of 2014.
Kareena Kapoor – Saif Ali Khan in Kurbaan and Agent Vinod
This real-life husband and wife have done three films together and all of them have failed miserably. In Tashan, Kapoor's love interest was Akshay Kumar. Saif and Kareena's next two films, Kurbaan and Agent Vinod, had more action than romance, and both of them were box-office disasters.
Katrina Kaif – Shah Rukh Khan in Jab Tak Hai Jaan
It’s hard to look bad opposite the King of Romance, but Ms. Kaif managed to do so. In Yash Chopra's Jab Tak Hai Jaan, the actress and King Khan barely looked like a couple in love. Khan shared a much better connection with the other female lead, Anushka Sharma, and we wish he had ended up with her.
