Verdict: A high-octane action-thriller.

Abhinay Deo's latest outing Force 2, starring John Abraham, Sonakshi Sinha and Tahir Raj Bhasin, is a sequel to the 2011 blockbuster Force. This action-thriller gives us a peek into the world of RAW agents on foreign land. Besides, it also aims to be a tribute to these unsung heroes who are often disowned and branded traitors if caught.

The film opens with the killing of three RAW agents. One of them is Inspector Yashvardhan's (John Abraham) best friend, Harish, who, before his death, leaves a clue as an indication of bigger things being set in motion.

When it is discovered that Shiv Sharma (Tahir Raj Bhasin), a low-key employee at the Indian Embassy of Budapest is responsible for leaking information about RAW agents, Inspector Yash together with RAW agent KK (Sonakshi Sinha) take it upon themselves to hunt him down.
Force 2 - BookMyShow

John Abraham plays an intense, larger-than-life indestructible cop who breaks jaws and has gone from lifting motorcycles in Force to lifting cars in this one. Sonakshi Sinha, on the other hand plays an underwritten RAW agent who perhaps lacks what is most essential, i.e., intuition. She may be his boss but he is always in command.

Tahir Raj Bhasin, who impressed us with his work in Mardaani (2014), plays a regular-looking cheeky, mouth-organ playing antagonist. He, in fact, is always planning a step ahead of the protagonists Yash and KK, who he describes as a spineless cop (who couldn't save his wife) and a rich brat (who is afraid to fire a gun), respectively.

With a run time of 127 minutes, this fast-paced film has a first half that is equipped with breathtaking aerial shots and well-executed chase sequences, some of which are atop buildings in the Eastern Europe. Besides, it offers an interval that keeps you intrigued.

The second half, just like the first, has engaging action sequences that are more than enough to keep you satiated. Plus, it has a refreshing climax sequence; one that is shot in the first person video game fashion.

Force 2, despite having a familiar story, has its moments. It is laced with twists where one least expects. It is indeed Deo that does a fantastic job at keeping the film engaging. Additionally, is gives us an antagonist we will always remember.

Why You Should Watch This Movie:
Force 2 is a noble attempt by Abhinay Deo to pay tribute to the unsung heroes. It is almost sans song and dance. If you love action and ahem, John Abraham, this one will not disappoint!
