Golden Globes 2015: The highlights

It’s that time of the year again… Yes, you know it. Awards season is finally here. Every year, we are treated to a variety of hilarious monologues, rollicking red carpet moments and the finest in fashion! Unsurprisingly, the 72nd Golden Globe Awards were no exception to the rule. Hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, the ceremony featured some moments that made us laugh out loud! If you missed the show, here are some of the highlights of the evening:

When Emma Stone decided to play along with the Big Eyes joke

Amy Poehler‘s Big Eyes joke had the potential to be offensive. Fortunately, its subject was Emma Stone – a lovely lady who knows how to take a joke. She even went along with it, showing us those famous Big Eyes!

Jeffrey Tambor’s first win and nomination

It seems almost impossible to believe that Jeffrey Tambor has never won a Golden Globe before. Luckily, this changed at the 72nd Golden Globe Awards. What’s better? Tambor dedicated his award to the transgender community.

A jab at sexism

In their monologue, Tina and Amy also took a jab at sexism in Hollywood. "Boyhood proves that there are still great roles for women over 40, as long as you get hired when you’re under 40," said Poehler.

The Bill Cosby reference

No one was spared. Not even Bill Cosby. In their monologue, the duo also made a reference to Into the Woods. They said, "Sleeping Beauty thought she was just getting coffee with Bill Cosby!"

Benedict Cumberbatch’s epic photobomb

The Sherlock star decided to photobomb Meryl Streep and Margaret Cho, and it was awesome! Need we say more?

Who Would You Rather?
Tina and Amy also decided to indulge in a game of "Who Would You Rather?". With all those beautiful people in the room, who can blame them?

Amal… Er, George Clooney’s Lifetime Achievement Award

Let’s face it, we’ve all thought of this before. It was nice to see someone put it in words, though!
Kevin Spacey’s acceptance speech
Everyone loves to hate Frank Underwood. As he finally accepted his award after eight nominations, Kevin Spacey reminded us exactly why. This line from his speech is proof enough!
