Unique Ways of Launching a Film’s Trailer

Today, the Half Girlfriend trailer will be out on YouTube at 12 noon. The makers of this Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer are also hosting a launch event in the city, which will be attended by Anil KapoorShakti Kapoor, and other members of the film fraternity. Way before the trailer, Balaji Motion Pictures released a motion poster and a video in which the lead actor – Arjun Kapoor – asked fans what the term Half Girlfriend meant to them. We don't know if this unique way of promotions will benefit the movie but here are other films that decided to do something hatke.

Meri Pyaari Bindu

It doesn't look like we will get to see a Meri Pyaari Bindu trailer as five chapters have already been launched. The short clips were fab and have given enough info about the movie. Yash Raj Films is winning praise for trying out such a unique strategy.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil 

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil's songs were way better than the movie so we don't know if it was an intentional move to release the tracks before the official trailer. Nevertheless, it worked. The songs become a rage and helped the movie big time.

Dear Zindagi

Looks like the team at Dharma Productions are constantly trying out different ways to market their films. With Dear Zindagi, we got to see chapters from the protagonist Kaira's life. Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt, this was one of the biggest hits of November 2017. 

M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story

To unlock the M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story trailer, the fans had to get more than 70,000 retweets on Twitter. This was the total of the number of runs scored by the cricketer and once the target was met, Fox Star India unveiled the trailer. Thanks to this strategy, the film was trending on Twitter for days.
