Happy Birthday Randy Orton; Knock Yourself Out!

Randall Keith Orton, aka Randy Orton, turns 36 today. The wrestler/actor has been signed with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) since 2001 and is currently on a break since his injury last month. The 12-time World Champion has also acted in a few movies like That’s What I Am, 12 Rounds 2: Reloaded and The Condemned 2.

Few know how Randy used to be a marine expert – he was a member of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and also had a USMC tattoo on his arm, covering it up later. He was discharged due to bad conduct (he went absent without leave) and had to serve 38 days in military prison.

Following this unceremonious exit, he became a referee at World Organized Wrestling and signing a contract with WWE soon after. Soon enough, he won the World Heavyweight Championship at the age of 24, making him the youngest ever to do so. He also won the championship twice in one night, which was thought to be an impossible feat. When John Cena tore his muscle in 2007, the next best – Randy, was gifted the vacant championship spot. Immediately, Triple H challenged him for the belt, forcing him to battle and defend the title. Randy ended up winning the same belt twice in the same night.

Surely his father, Bob Orton Junior, and his uncle, Barry Orton, both ex-wrestlers themselves, must have taught him the tricks of the trade. His father entered the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005, and also made a few ringside appearances with Randy in recent times, contributing to some surprise victories in the process. His uncle transitioned into movies after retiring as a wrestler.

Randy once slapped wrestling legend – The Undertaker, and if you thought that was bad enough, you must know that he followed this by slapping the CEO of WWE – Vince McMahon. He has also attacked an interviewer and destroyed locker rooms among other things. But, what he is most famous for, is his finishing move – the RKO. Since his initials are RKO, his signature move is named so. This finisher did however get famous for the funniest reasons, check out this video below:
