HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY

Legends are not made everyday and since they are only a rare phenomenon, all the great men and women impact our lives some way or the other. One such man is Sir Paul McCartney who turns 70 today and is still rocking into old age!

This icon has been entertaining the masses since he was only a teenager, he grew up in Liverpool and met a fellow student there named John Lennon, who alongwith few other students from school started the band known as "The Quarrymen". The duo thence expanded in to the band of four music icons known to the world as "The Beatles". The band comprised John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison. They brought about the revolutuion in the little time they were active (early ’60s) and their music continues to entertain the new generation kidadults as much as they entertain their parents.
Soon after The Beatles broke up, Sir Paul established himself as a great solo star and continues to rock the audiences around the world.

He remains the most successful music composer and recording artist with sales of over 100 million albums and 100 million singles all around the world. We wish more power to the star for we would love to hear his voice all the time.

Sir Paul McCartney famously married thrice – he was widowed when his beloved first wife Linda Eastman died from breast cancer in 1998 and he divorced former model Heather Mills in a highly-publicised court battle in 2008, after six years of marriage (the couple also has a daughter). He is hoping it’ll be third time lucky after he wed New York socialite Nancy Shevell in 2011.

His hit Beatles number, ‘Yesterday’ is the most covered song in the history of recorded music – more than 2,200 artists have performed their own renditions of the track.

McCartney became the last of the Fab Four to be felicitated with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame when he unveiled the honour earlier this year.

He owns the publishing rights to more than 25,000 songs via his company MPL Communications, including those of Buddy Holly and those in hit musicals Guys and Dolls and Grease.

Did you also know that the band was rather close-knit and rumours about a strained relationship between John Lennon and Sir Paul McCartney didn’t deter the warmth in their rather cordial relationship in the later years. George Harrison too was a great friend of his, and the former’s lost battle to cancer shook him quite a bit.

As it is said, all’s well in the end and if it’s not alright, it’s not the end, we would only love to hear him for many more years to come!
