Varun Dhawan will bring in his 29th birthday today. From playing the rich spoiled Rohit Nanda who had to prove himself to his dad, to playing a 40-yr-old dad himself in Badlapur, he has definitely come a long way. If you’ve noticed, Varun Dhawan is the only newcomer to have achieved a 100% success ratio in all his films. This versatile actor has not had one single flop of all the 6 odd films that he has done and all of them mostly belong to different genres. Well, did he always want to become an actor? Read further to know:
Varun was deeply influenced by the character that Christian Bale played in American Pyscho and wanted to be the on the same plane. He went to an accounting school and studied iBanking. Acting was never on his mind and he thought he was smarter than that and an actor was someone with lesser intellect (his words, not ours).
But eventually the acting bug bit him, probably because of the genes, and he had to struggle his way through Bollywood. For all those who think star kids don`t have to struggle, here`s the news;
His Father refused to launch him.
His parents wanted him to start off his career in acting with a big banner.
With two such heavy burdens on his head, the actor started off as an intern for MAD in Worli and described it as a learning experience for life, where his first assignment was to roam the streets of Linking Road to get 150-200 shoes for a commercial. Ultimately, the shoes weren’t used.
Varun Dhawan then walked into Karan Johar’s office like a boss and asked him about a promise Karan made to him 3 years ago in Goa about getting into films. The only thing Karan told him then was to chop off his long locks and lose weight.
Karan then gave him his debut film, Student Of The Year (SOTY), which he himself directed. His parents were extremely happy because of the big banner. He won many debut nominations for that role, and from there, he became a newbie to watch out for. Varun also worked as an Assistant Director in My Name is Khan before this.
One fact that most people don’t know is that during SOTY, Varun used to make up his own lines, not adhering to his lines and often got corrected for it. He also has a tough time recollecting lyrics and often makes up his own.
The actor proved his mettle in Badlapur, which he signed immediately after SOTY, but delivered commercial successes like Main Tera Hero and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya before Badlapur. Playing a 40-yr-old man in Badlapur, he wowed us with his exceptional acting skills and took us into the dark side of Varun that we had never seen before. From his father to close relatives, all were against taking up the film. But he went for it, and the film was quite a turning point in his life both emotionally and professionally.
In ABCD2, he wowed us with his amazing dancing skills and perfectly chiseled body.
Varun loves his fans and his fans love him. He plays something called @varunsays on Twitter with his fans, where his fans ask him a question and he tweets back. No wonder his fans absolutely adore him and surprised him last year by making Dwayne The Rock Johnson, who he is a huge fan of, wish him a happy birthday. Did you know that Varun is a crazy fan of The Rock and imitates him flawlessly? When in school, his seniors used to make him imitate The Rock and the senior girls drooled over his amazing ability to do so.
For this birthday, let’s see what his fans surprise him with.
We wish Varun Dhawan a very happy birthday again and loads of success for his upcoming movies!
