Harry Potter Stars Since the Movies

Here’s a fact that will make us feel older than we already do: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 released five years ago. Yes, the final movie of our beloved childhood franchise is five years old and the book almost nine years old. Here’s another crazy fact. Daniel Radcliffe, who played the iconic Harry Potter, is now 26, 15 years older than the time we first saw him on Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Emma Watson (Hermione) and Rupert Grint (Ron) are also 26 and 27 years old, respectively. 

The actors have all moved on: Daniel has starred in Hollywood films, Rupert was cast in CBS’s new show Super Clyde, and Emma was appointed as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and will be seen in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Here’s what the other stars of Harry Potter did after the franchise ended:

Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley): After the completion of the Harry Potter series, the actress made her screenwriting and directorial debut in the film Separate We Come, Separate We Go

Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom): Last seen on the big screen in Me Before You, and also starred in the dramedy series Bluestone 42.

Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood): She starred in indie teen comedy G.B.F. and got her first lead role in My Name Is Emily.

Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy): After the last Harry Potter movie, Felton was first seen in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. He is now a cast regular in The Flash.

James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley): The twins appeared on the British drama television film Danny and the Human Zoo alongside Harry Potter co-star Evanna Lynch.

Alfred Enoch (Dean Thomas): After appearing on an episode of Sherlock, he went on to work for Shonda Rhimes’ popular series How To Get Away With Murder.

Michael Gambon (Albus Dumbledore): He was a cast regular in Casual Vacancy, a miniseries based on another book by J. K. Rowling.

Maggie Smith (Minerva McGonagall): She was seen in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and its sequel and also played the amazing Lady Violet Crawley on Downton Abbey.

David Bradley (Argus Filch): He played the despicable Walder Frey (good riddance!) on Game of Thrones. Also catch him on the ITV series Broadchurch.

Gary Oldman (Sirius Black): Other than The Dark Knight Rises, the popular actor was also seen in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

David Thewlis (Remus Lupin): He was seen in the Eddie Redmayne-starrer The Theory of Everything, as will be seen next in Wonder Woman.

Natalia Tena (Nymphadora Tonks): She was cast (and killed) in Game of Thrones as the wildling Osha.


Voldemort's Army - BookMyShow

Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort): His role as Monsieur Gustave H. in The Grand Budapest Hotel got him a number of nominations. The actor will next be heard voicing Alfred Pennyworth in The Lego Batman Movie.

Frank Dillane (Voldemort): Die-hard Harry Potter fans will remember him as a young Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. He now stars in popular series Fear the Walking Dead.

Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange): She was last seen in Alice Through the Looking Glass, but her role in Suffragette, Les Misérables, and Cinderella are worth a watch.
