Beat The Heat With Healthy Strawberry Drinks

It’s summer and while your friends may be posting pictures of their exotic beach vacations, you’re stuck at home or at work, trying to find a way to escape the scorching heat. You can’t dress your best, or put on glamorous make-up, because your look will eventually be destroyed by your own sweat. If you are a heavy sweater, you may be drenched before you even reach your destination. But what if we told you that there’s a solution to your perspiring worries that involves some delicious strawberries? Sounds exciting, doesn’t it? Then try out some of these cooling strawberry drinks, which will not only help you beat the heat, but also stay in shape for the summer. Some of these cocktails are ideal for a dinner party with friends.
Strawberry Basil Margaritas
Serves 8
  • 2 cups sweetened lemon juice
  • 2 to 2½ cups tequila
  • 2½ cups water
  • 10 strawberries
  • 8 basil leaves
  1. Pour the lemon juice into a pitcher and add the tequila and water.
  2. Slice the strawberries and add the slices to the pitcher.
  3. Crush the basil leaves and add it to the pitcher.
  4. Cover the pitcher and leave it in the fridge overnight or for a couple of hours.

Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri
Serves 4 to 6
  • 8 strawberries
  • 1 cup white rum
  • ¼ cup lime juice
  1. Slice the strawberries and place the slices in a mixer grinder.
  2. Add the rum and lime juice in the mixer and grind to blend evenly.
Pour the drink into separate glasses and enjoy with your closest pals.

Watermelon Strawberry Squash
Serves 2
  • 1 watermelon
  • 4 strawberries
  • ½ lemon
  • 6 mint leaves
  1. Chop the watermelon and strawberries and place the slices in a mixer grinder.
  2. Squeeze the lemon in the mixture and grind to blend evenly. Leave it slightly thick.  
  3. Pour the mixture into a pitcher and refrigerate for about 15 minutes or longer, if required.
  4. Divide the mint leaves and place them at the bottom of two glasses.
  5. Pour the squash into them.

Strawberry Orange Juice
Serves 2
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup
  • 2 tablespoons flax seeds
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon orange extract
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  1. Add all the ingredients to a mixer grinder.
  2. Blend until smooth and pour into glasses.

Strawberry Basil Mint Cocktail
Serves 6-8
  • 10 strawberries
  • 2 oranges
  • 1 lemon
  • ¼ cup crushed mint leaves
  • 1 cup crushed basil leaves
  • 2 cups soda, or cold drink of your choice
  • ½ cup Grand Marnier (optional)
  1. Chop the strawberries and place the slices in a bowl.
  2. Squeeze the oranges and lemon in the same bowl.
  3. Add the mixture to the mixer grinder with all the other ingredients and grind to blend evenly.
  4. Pour the drink into separate glasses.
Enjoy it with your pals over Sunday brunch.

Strawberry lemonade
Serves 1
  • 3-4 strawberries
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional)
  1. Slice the strawberries and place the slices in a mixer grinder.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients to the mixer and grind to blend evenly.
  3. Pour the mixture into a glass and add ice cubes, if required.
