Hideous Outfits Of Bollywood Actresses From The 90s

Most of us have grown up watching films like Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Judaai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai etc. Bright bold colors blinding your eyes, frilly and long or overtly short dresses, oversized artificial flowers or bandannas, dancing randomly on the streets at foreign locales (sometimes North pole, sometimes South; all in one song, which is 5-min-long) and changing 10-15 outfits in that one song; this definitely reminisces Bollywood of the 90s

Ugly Bollywood Outfits

Well, while we do want to believe those clothes were specially designed for the exercise/dance/this-doesn`t-make-sense-but-I`ll-still-jump steps, we have to agree that some of the outfits worn by the Bollywood actresses back then in the 90s were fashion disasters. Fashion does make a comeback. However, there were some outfits that Bollywood actresses have happily adorned themselves with, which will definitely and hopefully never make one. Here are five famous Bollywood actresses of the 90s who were extremely beautiful and talented, but wore clothes which were we would call nothing less but hideous.

Madhuri Dixit: Jaadu Jaadu Jaadu (Yaarana – 1995)
Madhuri, who set the fashion trend for Indian "aunties" at weddings with her iconic purple saree from Hum Aapke Hain Kaun in 1994, wore an awful white dress in this song with white stockings and "Jeetendra shoes" with heels. And to add to the horror, she even wore a distasteful wig, which she is seen wearing throughout the film. This movie is probably just famous for Madhuri`s loud clothes and horrible wig and of course the song Piya Ghar Aaya

Kajol: Jaati Hoon Main (Karan Arjun – 1995)
Though we love Kajol and admire her acting skills, her clothing in most of those 90s films haven’t been very appealing, to say the least. And although we like Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol dancing and jumping all over and around a horse stable, we can’t help but gawk at Kajol’s attire. The blue ensemble with huge flowers all over it, chunky accessories and oh yes, a huge flower in her hair to complete the outfit. It is these examples that define the 90s, right?

Sridevi – Ooee Baba Parapa (Judaai -1997)
In Judaai, Sridevi lost her husband as well as her sense of dressing when she turned rich. In the song, she is seen wearing striped black and white pants teamed with an oversized coat and a shimmery hairband. Also, later in the movie do not miss her outfits when her character strikes gold; the one she wears as she ascends down the stairs with a flower in her hair and a dog in her hand. We seriously hope the rich dress better.

Rekha: Madam X (1994)
The pictures say it all. We rest our case.

Karishma Kapoor: Baby Baby Baby (Khuddar – 1994)
Although Karishma is a gorgeous-looking woman, this song with its raunchy dance movements and trashy lyrics and of course her costume screams simply tacky.
