The New York Fashion Week, a week-long fashion fiesta has finally come to an end. And like everytime, we got to see a range of styles and outfits out of which some were noteworthy while some were just good to watch on the ramp, but they all had one thing in common, they all are priced at sky-high rates. But as every fashion addict we dream of sitting front row with starlets like Anna Wintour and comment about what Gigi Hadid is wearing and what was the highlight of today’s show. But until our dream comes true, let’s just live with highlighting some of the most talked about points at the NYFW 2017.
These ladies are constantly making us proud with their work and they just went a notch higher. Priyanka Chopra attended the Prabal Gurung show in the designer’s number and looked absolutely stunning. Deepika attended the Michael Kors show as well as the Ralph Lauren and DP was spotted at both the occasions with her stylist- Shaleen Nathani by her side constantly. Have a look at the beauties and their outfits.
Plus-sized models made a solid point this season:
It isn’t the first time that plus-sized models walked the ramp but this time around, they were made to wear outfits that were not ugly looking. With topics like body shaming and loving all your imperfections doing the rounds, designers have come to accept that plus-sized models look just as sexy as the others and we cannot agree more.
With all the hullaballoo in the political world, it would be more groundbreaking if people in the public eye did not make a political statement. So designers like Prabal Gurung and Mara Hoffman got models to wear outfits with strong political slogans about feminism. It seemed that even the most high-profile designers had a say on the current political happenings.
MK lent the classy touch to the show:
Kors did not bring in any fancy hip-hop music or dancers, he brought in a live orchestra to play in the background of his show. Yes, a real orchestra. Absolute class, we must say.
Indonesian Muslim designer Anniesa Hasibuan made the hijab a part of her outfits for display at the N.Y. Fashion Week. All of the models in Hasibuan’s fashion show were seen wearing gray hijabs. We love how religious sentiments are well applauded on the ramp.
Kendall, along with the Hadid sisters, rules the ramp this season. It comes as no surprise since these three have the much needed confidence, body as well as experience now.
The most outstanding point this year at the N.Y.Fashion Week was that the designers and the models spoke their mind with their work. What do you think about this year’s NYFW? Tell us in the comments below.
