It’s that time of the month again and as promised, we’re back! April saw the release of several anticipated ventures like Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and Fast & Furious 8. A few smaller, yet interesting ventures also hit the theatres.

It is difficult to keep up with so many films, especially when they all hit the theatres in just a span of a month! If you were too busy to make it to the movies, you need not worry. As always, we bring you our list of hits and misses, which is inclusive of films that you absolutely cannot afford to miss and also those that you could probably skip.

HITS
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion
Given the hype, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion had blockbuster written all over it way before it hit theatres. This S S Rajamouli film has an amazing story, brilliant performances, larger-than-life action sequences and the answer to that burning question.

Fast & Furious 8
Fast & Furious 8 delivered on all the expectations one has come to attach with the Fast franchise. It is high on comedy, fast cars and action-packed sequences.

Maatr
Maatr earned rave reviews from the audience for highlighting not only the atrocities that take place on a daily basis, but also the failure of the judicial system to deliver justice.

Smurfs: The Lost Village
Smurfs: The Lost Village was supremely entertaining. It received love not only from children but also their parents.

Mukti Bhawan
Mukti Bhawan may not have been the big film one can consider hyped, however, it did turn out to be a crowd-pleaser afterall. This one has its heart in the right place.

The Zookeeper's Wife
An amazing script, brilliant actors and the fantastic portrayal of wartime Poland is what made this film strike a chord with the audience.

Sonata
Aparna Sen's film, Sonata, is based on Mahesh Elkunchwar's play of the same name. With its unique subject and poetic treatment, this one came as a breath of fresh air for the cinephiles.
