We have come to the end of a rather glorious month (and year) at the movies. December not only had a string of hyped movies like Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani 2 and Nitesh Tiwari's Dangal, it also saw the release of a few smaller but interesting projects. In case you were not able to catch them all amid the festivities, worry not. Like always, we bring you our list of hits and misses, which ranges from films that you absolutely cannot afford to miss to those that you could probably skip.
Let us now take a look at how films fared in the last month.
This extraordinary story based on Mahavir Phogat and his two daughters – Geeta and Babita, emerged a clear winner.
Moana is the story of a girl who has the will to save her island. This Disney flick was a true crowd-pleaser.
This sequel to the 2012 film, Kahaani, earned rave reviews from our users for its cast and their performances.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was loved by Star Wars fans and non-fans, alike!
In Regional Cinema:
We also had some regional gems that were appreciated by the audience. Some of these include Double Feluda (Bengali), Byomkesh Pawrbo (Bengali), Bethaludu (Telugu), Dhruva (Telugu), Mummy (Kannada), Dieyana House (Kannada), Chennai 600028 Second Innings (Tamil), Mission Mummy (Gujarati), Ore Mukham (Malayalam) and Marupadi (Malayalam).
Not all films did as well. Some missed by a narrow margin. A few of these are 30 Minutes (Hindi), Sojiga (Kannada), Parandhu Sella Vaa (Tamil), Veera Sivaji (Tamil) and Okkadochadu (Telugu).
Well, that was all for December 2016. Let us hope that 2017 is even better. See you soon!
