Hollywood Hits and Misses – July 2017

We know every month is a good one for movies and we have been saying that time and again. And every month, Hollywood filmmakers bring something even more amazing to the screens near you. The month of July was no different. There were many amazing big budget movies last month, for which we had been waiting a long time, and there were also those small budget ones that did not create that many waves, but still impressed the audience. July truly has been an amazing month for Hollywood movies, as every movie was loved by the audience. Here's the verdict.

HITS

Dunkirk
Christopher Nolan's movie was meant to bring the war to people in theatres and it did just that. There were war veterans amongst the audience, who found the movie too real, and the audience was left in awe of the director once again. If you are hoping to catch this one on TV, you are missing something, as this is meant to be a cinematic experience.

Spider-man: Homecoming
Spider-man has come back to Marvel and we all can rejoice because Marvel has presented the best movie yet for a character that was adapted twice in the last fifteen years. The movie is fresh and Tom Holland has proved that he deserves his own three-part series.

Berlin Syndrome
A thriller that keeps you on the edge of the seat will always get the audience. This psychological thriller's trailer gets you curious enough to know how this one would end. If you haven't seen this one yet, it is still in theatres.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets
Since Avatar, we haven't seen such an alien-heavy movie. Yes, there are a lot of movies set in space, but the human to alien ratio is not quite the same. This movie is a visual treat along with a soundtrack that keeps you engaged to the storyline. Not to forget Rihanna's performance.

War for the Planet of the Apes
It is very strange how a single story can lead to so many prequels and sequels. This is far from the last in the series and although we might be sad with Caesar's death, there is much more the Apes have to achieve before it truly becomes the Planet of the Apes.

The Black Prince
This film is about Punjab's last Maharaj and marks Satinder Sartaj's debut. He truly shines as Duleep Singh. The beauty of the movie is that they have chosen not to over dramatize anything and present it as is.

MISSES

None of the releases in the month have left the audience disappointed. Wasn't July truly a great month for Hollywood movies!
