After the roaring success of their last show – 40 Shades of Grey (Hair) – Kunal Vijaykar and Cyrus Broacha have another winner with How I Met Your Father. The premiere shows were held at the Royal Opera House and St. Andrews Auditorium over the weekend, and boy, it was a laugh riot.
As the title suggests, the evening began with Kunal conversing with Cyrus Broacha's daughter, Maya. The kid is glued to her phone so Kunal decides to tell her stories about how he and her father met. Only one of them is true and the girl has to make a guess.
Ever met a person at a cinema theatre who goes – here to watch a film? Yes, we all have and as Cyrus calls it – these are redundant conversations. The first act, which is set at the airport, is dedicated to this. Kunal plays an annoying co-passenger who gets on Cyrus’ nerve. The airport announcements during this skit are outrageous.
Just like in his other shows, this time too Cyrus involved the audience in the acts. He kept mingling with the crowd, disturbing prizes and, well, making them feel awkward. Gopal Dutt, who features with the duo in their TV show, The Week That Wasn't, played different roles throughout the show. His act as a liftman is what left everyone in splits.
How I Met Your Father is produced by Raell Padamsee’s Ace Productions. Keep a check on our events' page for tickets.
