An epic finale.

A legendary whiz-kid gold mine film franchise with the cream-of-the-crop British cast and extravagant storyline, (that will always be captured best in the reader’s imagination) comes to an emotional and exhilarating end after a decade of good vs. evil.
The very creator, novelist J.K.Rowling has co-produced this finale (in order to protect her own interests? or as a protective measure for this treasured franchise?).  While Part 1 was a lull – dark, gloomy and foreboding with personal explorations and plenty of awkward growing up moments for the trio – Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) and Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint), Part 2 is thunderbolt action and a triumphant finish.
The light fluffy fun, magic & humour are now behind us. Everyone has grown-up – the trio, the movie and the gazillion fans and it’s now time to save the world from the most evil force known to wizarding-kind, Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes). Wizard-boy & Co must seek and destroy the final four Horcruxes, the life force that Voldemort thrives and festers on. With fire-breathing dragons and black-robed Death Eaters to battle, the kids surely have entered dense and intense times as opposed to their frolicking freshman days at Hogwarts.

It’s a quick and heady rush with old familiar characters and places and stories being revisited to be all tied up together.  There are plenty of emotional moments as the now mature and weary Harry meets Sirius Black, Lily and James Potter and when he finally surrenders to his sacrificial fate. A mourning scene after Remus and Tongs are slain tugs at your heart strings. Even Snape emerges from his sinister shadow to a sympathetic one.
For the fans and for us, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grunt have grown and matured into a brilliant actors and Emma Watson has bloomed into a captivating young lass.
Director David Yates has justified his split as Part 2 couldn’t provide a more flourishing end than it does – flash forward 19 years into the future to complete the circle of life! Bravo!
