Verdict: A cute love story with nice dialogues.
Idhi Maa Prema Katha marks the debut for leading pair Anchor Ravi and Meghana Lokesh as well as writer-director, Ayodhya Karthik. Produced by P.L.K.Reddy and Dinesh under Matsya Creations and P.L.K.Productions, the music of the movie is rendered by Karthik Kodakandla and background score by Terish Teja. While editing is handled by Naveen Nooli and Lokesh, the cinematography is done by S.Murali Mohan Reddy. Anchor Ravi has made a mark for himself on the small screen and is trying his luck with movies as the lead hero. Releasing today amidst a dozen movies, let’s see if Idhi Maa Prema Katha stands tall among them.
What’s Idhi Maa Prema Katha About:
Arun (Anchor Ravi) is a final year student who falls in love at first sight with Sandhya (Meghana Lokesh) – a first-year student from the same college. Sandhya, too, loves him and they get engaged with the blessings of their parents. Before getting married, Arun wishes to settle down in life and gets a job at the Maruti showroom owned by his friend’s father. Just when we think everything is fine between them, a small misunderstanding erupts in the form of Neha. How they clear the misunderstanding and unite again forms the rest of the story.
This is a cute love story with nice dialogues. Anchor Ravi makes a decent debut and his chemistry with Meghana Lokesh is good. Both make a lovely pair and the whole movie revolves around them. In fact, they are seen in almost every frame throughout the movie. Karthik did a fantastic job with the dialogues and narration. It is good to see that the director stuck with the story without being formulaic. All the songs in the movie are melodious and catchy. Given the fact that it is a low-budget movie, the production values are good. Tulasi, Vizag Prasad, Prabhas Srinu, Priyadarshi, and others are apt in the roles they portrayed. The director has a stint with acting as well and is seen in a small role.
What Could Have Been Better:
Though songs are good, background score could have been better. Even the action episodes look pale and not so noteworthy. There is scope for improvisation in the editing department as well. The director excelled in the dialogue department but his direction needs some sharpening in terms of the flow of narration.
Why You Should Watch:
Overall, one can watch Idhi Maa Prema Katha for its content, dialogues and the chemistry between the lead pair. This is a clean and neat entertainer that can easily be watched by youth and family audiences alike.
