6 Times Indian Actors Went Unnoticed in International Films

Actors like Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra prove that Indian talent can go places. Deepika totally nailed her portrayal of Serena Unger in the Vin Diesel-starrer xXx: Return of Xander Cage and Priyanka Chopra has been creating quite the buzz with ABC's TV show Quantico and her upcoming film, Baywatch, alongside Dwayne Johnson.

While the two ladies have enjoyed extensive reportage, it is also true that there have been many Indian actors before them who have taken their work beyond Bollywood but have somehow gone unnoticed.

Here are six Indian actors whose performances you may have missed in international films:

Nimrat Kaur, One Night with the King (2006)
Before appearing in The Lunchbox and the fourth season of Homeland, Nimrat Kaur featured in Michael O. Sajbel's film, One Night with the King She played a small role in this adaptation of Hadassah.

Gaurav Chopra, Blood Diamond (2006)
Actor Gaurav Chopra who is known for TV serials like Uttaran (2016) and Aisa Des Hain Mera (2006), starred in
Edward Zwick's Blood Diamond alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Djimon Honsou. He played the role of a cameraman covering the civil war of Sierra Leone in the mid 90s.

Irrfan Khan
played a
Pakistani cop, Zeeshan Kazmi, in A Mighty Heart. In the film he is seen helping Angelina Jolie's character find her husband Daniel Pearl, who was a Wall Street Journal journalist.

Veteran Om Puri was an actor of international repute. He starred in many projects. However, his role in the Tom Hanks-starrer, Charlie Wilson's War came as a surprise for many. His portrayal of the Pakistani president Zia-Ul-Haq, was indeed a memorable one.

Freida Pinto, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger (2010)
Pinto, who made her breakthrough in Danny Boyle's Oscar-winning film,
Slumdog Millionaire, went on to star in various other projects. One of them was Woody Allen's You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger in which she plays a mystery woman who catches Roy's (Josh Brolin) gaze through a nearby window.
