Verdict: Indulge in 147 minutes of guaranteed entertainment.
Director Ashok Pati’s “Inspector Notty. K” is an out-and-out comedy. The movie gives its audience exactly what it promises – a perfect rom-com. A funny cop on an adventure is well portrayed in the movie.
What’s Inspector Notty K. About:
The Khara Bari is famous in the village for having havildars for generations. But this time there's a celebration for the family. The reason? Natabor Khara (Jeet) is the first inspector in the family. What the family did not know was that Notty was just another havildar and not an inspector. The inspector of Jorashako Police Station, Deben Ghosh (Kharaj Mukherjee) grew tired of Notty and his pranks, so he hatches a plan to get rid of him for good.
He ships off Notty to Italy with the mission to reunite the SP and his wife and daughter. Once successful, he will be promoted to the post of Inspector. That was the deal. In Italy, Notty falls in love with inspector Samira (Nusrat Faria Mazhar), who already has a boyfriend (called Marco), unbeknownst to Notty. After a series of errors, there is a slight twist, and thus began Notty’s other mission, which also includes his own attempts to woo her. To know what happens next, and whether Notty actually becomes an inspector or not, one must watch the movie.
The actors were perfect with their comic timing. Jeet as Notty did an exceptional job. All the actors were well synchronized as a team. The song sequences also complimented the theme of the movie. The picturisation and storyline were good, and the pace of the movie was also smooth. The essence of the movie faltered for not a single instance.
What Could Have Been Better:
The editing at certain points could have been better. Also, the second half seemed a little rushed. The dialogues seemed a tad bit repetitive at times.
Why You Should Watch it:
The movie has quite a refreshing storyline. Those who are rom-com lovers are sure to love this movie, which is bound to keep you entertained throughout.
