The longing for rains seems to be getting on everyone’s nerves. The rising heat is making things really bad. This is definitely reflecting on our magazine covers. It’s almost like they had to stretch the summer by one more month! Most of the covers have retained the pop colors that worked well in summer and are yet to make the season transition. In terms of variety, the June 2016 covers offer very little. We are still talking about light shades – pinks and blues – and beachy background. Wake me up when summer ends?
The two most prominent covers that caught our eye are from GQ and L’Officiel – Shahid Kapoor is killing it with panache, and Sonakshi is sporting a demure, almost oriental look. Let’s check out what the mags are offering us this month.
Alia Bhatt is on the covers of two magazines this month – Stardust and Hello!. On Stardust, she is sporting a plain Jane country belle look, and on Hello! she is balancing a lovely baby pink low cut bralet with monochrome blazer and shorts. The hair is on-point in the Hello! cover. We love the low bun!
Grazia and Hi! Blitz
Aditi Rao Hydari in Grazia is in a light Denim jacket and jeans combo with a choker and dual top buns. The background is beachy but you are lost in the color scheme to notice the grainy sand she’s sitting on. The newly-wed Bipasha Basu is sporting a modern traditional look. We love her make-up and stunning head jewelry.
FHM and Elle
Chitrangada Singh is giving us Dormcore vibes with her knee-length shrug and white tank top and high-waist lower. The overall cover look is happy. Elle celebrated 20 years with Diana Penty sporting a sheer dress and red background. Sadly it may have fallen a little short of being Red Hot as they suggested!
Vogue and Filmfare
Vogue India has Karina Kaif in a multi colored beach wear and some funky neck-pieces. The look immediately transports you to the lovely African beaches – think Seychelles and Mauritius! Shraddha Kapoor is on the Filmfare cover. The cover has gone for a dark black-grey tone. The cape looks like an interesting piece, wish it was flaunted more.
GQ and L’Officiel
The two covers that made it to the top of our June list. Shahid Kapoor is giving us some major ‘handsome man’ goals in a blue blazer. He has also gone rogue with sock-less black loafers. Sonakshi Sinha‘s red oriental look has our heart this month. We love the nude make up and braids. And that chair! Full marks to the team!
