The Purple Pebble Pictures was established by Priyanka Chopra with an aim of producing pocket-friendly and meaningful regional films. The company has already produced one film each in Bhojpuri, Marathi and Punjabi. Out of which, Ventilator (Marathi) is considered to be the best. The film was a stupendous success and won several awards, including three National Awards. And the efforts are highly commendable for a two-year-old company. Hence, expectations from their second Marathi film Kaay Re Rascalaa are sky high and it releases this Friday.
The trailer that released last week has further raised the excitement. Director Giridharan Swamy has been able to make a film that falls into multiple genres. Going by the title and a few scenes in the trailer, there seems to be a love story between two people from different states in India.
We also see the lead actor Gaurav Ghatnekar as an intelligent conman who, with the help of child actor Nihar Gite, is planning for the biggest con of his life. And how he executes it is the crux of the story. The songs composed by duo Rohan-Rohan has already become popular, especially ‘Yaari’ which is now the new friendship anthem of Marathi cinephiles. The other major cast includes Nikhil Ratnaparkhi, Supriya Pathare, Nagesh Bhosle, Kunickaa Sadanand, Shrikant Mhase and Aishwarya Sunar. So get ready to experience a laugh riot and don’t forget to stay tuned for our Kaay Re Rascalaa review. In the meantime, let us know your thoughts on the film’s trailer.
