Review: Some movies are the kind that you want to watch with a bunch of friends and laugh for no apparent reason. This movie is one of them and unfortunately I wasn’t with a bunch of friends. Keymon and Nani is a movie that desperately tries to be funny.
Horrific animation, bad scripts and a ridiculous story makes this movie a complete disaster. This movie is a fine example of “not all TV shows will turn into good movies”. The movie revolves around Rohan and his magical monkey, who uses magic at his own convenience, Keymon who have to visit their strict Nani. When the two land up at Nani’s place, things turn around and Nani turns out to be an awesome person. As things settle and all three begin to enjoy themselves, a twist appears. Nani gets abducted by aliens. The whole story revolves around the rescue attempt Rohan and Keymon pull off.
The movie is full of ironic stupidities and idiosyncrasies. Weird names used for characters such as Captain Darna-mat and Princess Hee-hee-ha-ha (which is not the least bit funny I can assure you) is the cherry on the top of a horribly baked cake. The animation was bad. Plain bad. It was as if you were going through the pages of a Tinkle comic at super-fast speed.
Though this movie is specially aimed at kids I do not think it would be a good idea to take your kids to this movie. Your kids will curse you.
Verdict: Prehistoric animation, such a lousy attempt at humour that even kids will cringe.
