Start-ups and entrepreneurship are the buzzwords in India right now. The idea of being one’s own master has led to a lot of start-ups mushrooming across the country. So much so that the entrepreneurship bug has even bitten the glitterati. Gone are the days when Bollywood celebrities were considered low on business acumen. The list of actors-turned-entrepreneurs has only been increasing since the last few years. They not only grab all the limelight on screen but also laugh their way to the bank with their business ventures. The latest actor to join the bandwagon is only four films old – Ms. Sanon.
A couple of days back, Kriti injured herself on the sets of her upcoming movie ‘Raabta’, which is when she decided to take a day off. While most of us would just rest and laze around our days off, the pretty actress decided to make the most of her time. She walked the ramp for her clothing line- Ms. Taken.
The collection includes casual as well as semi-formal garments. The collection is already available in local malls as well as a reputed online portal. The Dilwale actress has made a smart move and collaborated with the Sachin Tendulkar-backed celebrity fashion company Universal Sportsbiz Pvt. Ltd to launch her signature western wear line.
Kriti was the showstopper at the launch event and was supported by her friends from the fraternity, Ayushmann Khurrana and her Heropanti director- Sabbir Khan.
Kriti was extremely confident as well as excited on the ramp. She couldn’t stop herself from showing off some awesome dance moves.
Sporting a sexy shimmery black LBD, the actress spoke proudly about her collection saying, “An Indian woman’s demeanour is often misconstrued when she expresses herself. Ms. Taken asserts the young woman’s aspirations and confidence. My aim is to provide affordable western wear, attuned to our Indian sensibilities. Ms. Taken is also a reflection of my own sense of style and allows me to connect with people beyond my films. I am delighted to collaborate with Anjana (Reddy) and her team to bring to life our vision of launching a stylish range of clothing in India.”
Reddy, the CEO of Universal Sportsbiz, said: “The Ms. Taken collection embodies the progressive, carefree and graceful young Indian woman with its cuts, styles, silhouettes, fits and colors. Ms. Taken will help recreate a woman’s wardrobe for everyday, as well as special occasions.”
And guess who the actress looks up to for her fashion inspiration? None other than her Bollywood contemporaries, Deepika Padukone,Sonam Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut. Who says actresses can’t be nice to each other?
