From kitschy prints to metallic and gold shimmer, Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014, has been showcasing some brilliant collections. With Shilpa Shetty, Sushmita Sen, Konkana Sen Sharma, Jacqueline Fernandez and Chitrangada Singh adding on to the oomph level, the ramp has been a starry affair.
The opening of Lakme Fashion Week saw Shilpa Shetty in a slinky grey printed cut-out gown with an attached dupatta drape by Masaba. On the other hand, Sushmita Sen raised the temperature high in a Amit Aggarwal creation. She looked absolutely stunning in a transparent black, striped gown. Well, you can never go wrong with black!
Masaba Gupta’s collection was inspired by the colorful Goan culture. Bright floral prints and the color palette gave a vintage hint. The lush yellows and earthy hues of brown brought a delicate touch to her collection. Once again, Masaba played with the sari and voila, we have a cut-out sari gown. With a delectable splash of Goan flavor, Masaba’s collection definitely was an exotic opening to this season’s Lakme Fashion Week. In a total contrast to the colorful show by Masaba, Amit Aggarwal’s collection saw play of sheer opaque and metallic delights. The all-black, red and the midnight blue added on the drama of the collection. We absolutely loved the futuristic lattice work on the gowns.
Konkona Sen was the showstopper for Anavila Mishra. The dusky beauty looked gorgeous in a metallic saree with yellow-gold and rust-gold blocking. Chitrangada Singh was the showstopper for Harshita Chatterjee Deshpande. She wore a red lehenga teamed with a golden blouse. Jacqueline Fernandez was seen in a gorgeous bridal lehenga by Anju Modi.
From organic fashion to sophisticated futuristic haute couture, Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive has been a fabulous affair.
Hold on to your seats. More is yet to come.
