Amazon India Fashion Week (AIFW) Spring-Summer 2016 just concluded last week. Unlike other fashion shows, it did not have the usual Bollywood turnout, but nevertheless, the show was a hit when it came to the designs presented. For five days, we saw Indian designers at their very best. The kind of outfits on display definitely won everyone over. Spring was blooming on the runway, and how. ‘Make In India’ was given a lot of importance, with many Indian textiles and fabrics being highlighted through spectacular designs. Many trends emerged and we caught the fashion bug like you guys! Here’s what we found the most interesting from the lot.

The New Trends
Color, color which color? Well, the designers all agreed on Poppy Red! Yes, it is the color of the season. A fresh red that works well on almost anything. From coats and kurtas to dresses, it makes everything look good.

Redefining the saree was on everyone’s mind and statement sarees were everywhere. The nine-yard garment was paired with contemporary-looking tops and blouses. Add a belt here and a scarf there, and ‘get the runway to the streets with your chic attitude’ is what our designers seemed to be screaming.

Long coats teamed with the ultimate LSD. What’s LSD? Little Summer Dress! Team the two together and you have a sure-shot winner.

The Bollywood Guests
Not many stars turned up, but Bollywood did make its presence felt. Athiya Shetty walked the ramp for Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna and looked breathtaking in a silver dress. Riddhima Kapoor Sahani was in attendance along with her husband, and looked quite pleased with the show. Designer Sanjay Garg hosted lovelies Konkona Sen Sharma, Mini Mathur, Deepti Naval and Soha Ali Khan in the front row for his show.
