Lilly Singh aka IISuperwomanII is a name we are all familiar with. Born in Canada to parents of Indian origin, Singh featured on the Forbes Highest Paid YouTubers list in 2015. And the way she managed to achieve this is what makes her so special – by just being her own humorous self. Since she began her YouTube stint in 2010, Singh’s career has been on a constant rise and she has become an Internet sensation. Her relatable videos about life, her ethnicity and the effortless manner in which she manages to bring a smile on her viewers’ faces with her life experiences is what makes her so popular.
Apart from being a popular YouTuber, Lilly Singh is constantly looking at expanding her horizons. Let’s take a look at how she continues to slay, apart from her videos.
Her acting cameos
Making her film debut with Dr. Cabbie in 2014, Singh has been building her acting resume since. 2016 has been an especially important year for her, with a cameo in Bad Moms and a voice-over in Ice Age: Collision Course for the character Misty. We do hope to see her in a few Bollywood flicks too!
Her own shade of red
Apart from her witty videos, Singh is also known for her funky and distinct sense of style. Her style is as vivacious as her personality and that is what sets her apart from the crowd. Singh has collaborated with Smashbox and come up with a lip shade called Bawse, a deep shade of red; another way to ensure that you can be a Bawse too!
Her music videos
Lilly Singh is also a rapper and has released several music videos in collaboration with Humble the Poet. Last year, she went on her world tour, A Trip to Unicorn Island, in 27 cities and 31 shows. Now that is a mean feat!
Collaboration with The Rock
If you have been following her videos over the years, you would know that Singh, like all of us, has a major crush on The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson and our favorite pop sensation Selena Gomez. However, while the rest of us kept crushing on them in our own homes, she managed to achieve what very few have done. She actually went out and collaborated with them for her videos. How awesome is that!
Debut as an author
And lastly, adding another feather to her cap, Singh recently announced she will be writing a book titled How to be a Bawse: A Guide to Surviving Conquering Life, an inspirational book based on her own life experiences and achievements. We can’t wait to get our hands on the book, which will hit shelves in March 2017.
With one achievement after the other, this woman is on a super rise. Keep them positive vibes coming, girl!
