The Line-up of Aadyam 2017

Aadyam is back! Yes, the theater initiative by The Aditya Birla Group is one of the most awaited events in the country. Every year some of the biggest names in Indian theater perform at Aadyam. The line-up of is fantastic and here are the plays that will be performed this year.

GUARDS AT THE TAJ 

DIRECTED BY – Danish Husain. 

CAST – Vrajesh Hirjee & Joy Fernandes.

This drama is based in 1648. The Taj Mahal is built and as two guards watch the sun rise over the monument, an event shakes their respective worlds. They are demanded to perform an unthinkable task, which makes them question their duty and friendship.

GAJAB KAHANI 

DIRECTED BY – Mohit Takalkar. 

CAST – Geetanjali Kulkarni, Ajeet Singh Palawat, Nakul Bhalla, Alap Vaidya, Anuj Deshpande, Ashish Pathak, Hrishikesh Pujari, Jeevak More, Prajakta Salbarde, Puneet Kumar Mishra, Siddharth Mahashabde, & Shubham Pareek.

An adaptation of The Elephant's Journey, Gajab Kahani shows how an elephant from India was taken to Europe in 1551. Travel back in time and explore the challenges faced by the animal and its mahout

BANDISH 20 – 20000HZ 

DIRECTED BY – Purva Naresh.

Watch the story of a nautanki singer and a baithak singer in Bandish 20 – 20000Hz. They relive their glory days and their witty anecdotes will definitely leave you in splits. 

ANAND EXPRESS

DIRECTED BY – Nadir Khan. 

CAST – Vivaan Shah.

Embark on a roller coaster ride with three friends who set on an adventure to give their fourth friend a perfect farewell. Set in in Mumbai, Anand Express is a tale of loss, hope, and friendship.

MOTHER COURAGE & HER CHILDREN 

DIRECTED BY – Quasar Thakore Padamsee. 

CAST – Arundhati Nag.

Join a mother's caravan as she navigates the minefields of the battlefield and bureaucracy. Mother Courage & Her Children is a hard-hitting satire about survival, entrepreneurship, and war.

UNDER THE GYPSY MOON 

DIRECTED BY – Akash Khurana.

Bengali writer Sarat Chandra’s Srikanta comes to life in Under the Gypsy Moon. While the protagonist does not want to be bound by relationships, he encounters two women who believe that he is their savior. What happens next? Watch the play to find out.
