Director Sunny Bhambani with the whole bunch of fresh faces brings to you a journey of love & relationships in his “Love Express”. It is a romantic comedy tracing the journey of two parallel love stories in a train full of baaratis from Amritsar to Mumbai.
‘Kanav weds Ashneet’ is what you see posted in a heart-shaped sticker all over in the train. Well, that’s the young couple on the way to their wedding. Kanav (Sahil Mehta) is a modern guy & a non-believer of traditions whereas Ashneet (Mannat Ravi) is a pure Punjab di kudi, for whom there is nothing more important than her family’s happiness & repute. Their marriage is arranged by the fathers of the two who are the best of friends for decades. While there is another story of a couple who wants to make up after a five-year-old break-up. Chirag (Vikas Katyal) & Priyanka (Priyum Galav) had a two-year long relationship & after the break-up, they directly, coincidently meet in this train as Priyanka is Ashneet’s best friend & so is Chirag for Kanav.
Well, the twist in the movie is when Asneet & Kanav both seem completely uninterested in this marriage & make a plan to break-up. Though that plan is successful, the impact of that to their families is quite rough. The two of them realize that they have begun to develop feelings for each other. On the other side, Chirag & Priyanka too fall for each other all over again.
All in all, “Love Express” gives you nothing more than the youngster’s perception over arranged marriages & relationships. It’s just an expected story, so it fails to keep the audience engaged. One thing that the chicks in the audience would find cute is the new face, Sahil Mehta, who seems a promising actor. And the guys would be glad to see the new beauties in town.
Verdict: The movie would not surprise you with anything new. Just another love journey!
