Love Shots: A Shot At Different Kinds Of Love

Reading or watching a love story can always give you those butterflies in your stomach and make you go aww. When you look at the history of literature or movies, you will find quotes for this very elusive and magical feeling called love. Cynics say that it is just the release of hormones in your brain, which makes you feel those things, but romantics know better. It is often described as something you understand only when you feel it. Countless poems and stories have been written and movies have also tried to showcase this feeling. Y-films known for their popular web series called Man’s World and Bang Baaja Baaraat, have come up with a new series of 6 short films surrounding the theme of love in different forms between couples. The series is called Love Shots. The series depicts slices of life moments and weaves them into love stories that are totally real and still give you goosebumps and butterflies in your stomach. And if you are a Bollywood fan and think that this is missing some music, there are some melodious compositions at the end during credits.

Love Shots – Film #1: The Road Trip

Road trips can be a super-fun time with the family or a super-duh time, if someone decides to initiate an argument. When you are boxed inside the tin can that moves on wheels, you have to face the music because there is no escape. This story is about one such car ride that escalated quite quickly to an argument, and an ending that will leave you in tears. Starring Nimrat Kaur of the Airlift fame and Tahir Raj Bhasin this is the first installment of the series and makes you want more of these stories that make your feel good and give you a heartache at the same time.

Love Shots – Film #2: Koi Dekh Lega

The above phrase is quite common among lovers who are trying to catch a moment of tenderness in the hustle and bustle of the city. The irony and the meaning behind the title can be only understood when you reach the climax of this sweet short film. Meet two lovers who are sitting on a bus stop and having a pretty normal conversation, occasionally teasing each other. The conversation is so normal, that you feel it is something happening right next to you. Shweta Tripathi and Saqib Saleem have done a beautiful job of portraying this, rather different, form of love.

Love Shots – Film #3: Textbook

Childhood love is something which is so innocent and a delight to watch. The idea of love for the kids is not marred by the cynicism that comes with adulthood. This film is one such story where love blossomed quite young and the gestures to express the love are surely going to make you aww. Child actors Shravani Desai and Shubham Tukaram have done an excellent job of portraying the love with their expressions. Swanand Kirkire’s brief cameo doesn’t disappoint and he is vital to the story of the love between two kids. (oops, spoiler alert!)

Love Shots – Film #4: Scandal Point

This story is for all those who say that there is a specific age for love. Well, there isn’t. Watch as these two seniors sit in their car drinking tea and reminiscing about their younger days of love. You can clearly see the spark has not died yet. Looking at them you will have serious relationship goals and make you feel like going on a drive with your loved one. Farida Jalal might be everyone’s favorite grandmother but this is a side of her we have never seen before. Kulbhushan Kharbhanda effortlessly completes the other half of this cute couple.

Love Shots – Film #5: Fired

Getting fired can be really difficult when you are paying installments and starting your life anew. At such a time you need a strong partner. Salim Merchant surprisingly excels as being such a partner. He excelled at giving the silent support his on-screen wife needed. Tillotama Shome does an excellent job of ranting about losing her job. We have never heard such a colorful string of expletives.

The sixth movie is set to release next week and we can’t wait for it. It is good to find examples of love in possible situations instead of the larger-than-life images we usually come across. What do you think of these shots of love? Please write in the comments below and don’t forget to share these shots with your friends.
