5 Unbelievably Talented Artists to See at the Mahindra Blues Festival

Mahindra Blues Festival is Asia's largest Blues festival that's been around since 2011. It's an iconic festival known for bringing international blues legends to India and showcasing the best of Indian Blues artists. This year, it takes place on 10th and 11th February at its usual venue, Mehboob Studios in Bandra West, Mumbai. While the festival itself doesn't need much introduction, here is all you need to know about the artists that make up this year's fantastic line-up.

John Mayall

A legendary musician who is known as The Godfather of British Blues, he's a true pioneer who has been experimenting with the genre since the beginning of his career which spans 50 years. His music has inspired a whole generation of artists from Eric Clapton to Mick Fleetwood. 

Coco Montoya

Coco Montoya has performed with John Mayall's band, Bluesbreakers, and launched his solo career in 1993. He's known for his fierce guitar work and passionate vocals. His last album, Hard Truth, which came out last year, had some of his best work that shows he's only getting better. 

Walter Wolfman Washington & The Roadmasters

Famous on the New Orleans music scene, Walter Wolfman Washington & The Roadmasters have been around for 30 years and are still rolling strong. Washington's signature mix of R&B, Blues, New Orleans funk, and modern jazz is a smooth ride you don't want to miss watching them live. 

Layla Zoe

Coming from a family of musicians, Layla has released more than ten albums and is internationally recognized. Her music sticks to the old-fashioned way that has gained her fans across the world. Not only is she a mesmerizing performer, she is also a talented songwriter who creates soulful lyrics.

The Blackstratblues

The Blackstratblues, a solo venture by Warren Mendoza, is one of India's most well-known blues musicians. He's not only popular in the indie music scene, but he's also contributed to a few Bollywood hit numbers like Beech Beech Mein from Jab Harry Met Sejal and the title track for Bang Bang.
