Since its inception, the festival has showcased some of the finest Indian and international acts in the genre. This year is no exception, featuring six-time Grammy Award winner Buddy Guy as the headlining artist. Anyone who’s watched the maestro work his magic knows that this is a performance that just can’t be missed! To top it off, he will be joined by Quinn Sullivan. For those who haven’t heard of him, Sullivan is a 15-year-old singer and guitarist who is being touted as the future of Blues music. Suffice it to say that we’re excited!
It seems that of late, no true blues line up could be complete without this next guy, Doyle Bramhall II. This south paw guitarist has played alongside every possible legend, and his last performance at the Crossroads Guitar Festival got him some super reviews. He will be joined by the iconic Rich Robinson, who has given some truly remarkable performances at the Experience Hendrix Tour. And if live videos are any indication, it looks like we’re going to be treated to some wickedly wonderful banter as well!
Another act to watch out for is Thorbjørn Risager and The Black Tornado. The group, dubbed "Denmark’s hardest working band", have consistently wowed crowds in the last decade. Their set at the Mahindra Blues Festival will be no exception, considering their unique performance style. What’s so unique about it, you ask? Well, for one, the band wonderfully divides songs among each other, making sure that everyone gets their due!
Though The Black Tornado have been around for over a decade, the Mahindra Blues Festival 2015 will also feature up-and-coming acts that’ve charmed us all. Take, for instance, the enchanting Nikki Hill. The songstress has steadily risen to fame since her debut in 2012, and it’s easy to see why! In her set, Hill makes the most of her powerful voice and her vivacious personality to make for an unforgettable performance!
It’s safe to say that this year’s line-up hits all the right notes! So, what are you still waiting for? Book your tickets for Asia’s biggest Blues festival while they last!
