Happy birthday, Miles Teller. The young actor who made his debut only in 2010 with the film Rabbit Hole, has already started making some big waves in Hollywood. He first appeared in several short films and television movies before making it to the silver screen. And now, he has already won awards by BAFTA, Sundance, Gotham and Satellite.
While he has mainly appeared in party movies like 21 & Over (2013) and Project X (2012) as well as rom-coms like That Awkward Moment (2014) and Two Night Stand (2014), it is only over the past few years that he has matured as an actor, when it comes to more serious roles. As he turns 30 today, here are four films, which prove his mettle as a fine actor in varied genres from romance to sports drama, comedy and even a musical. Although, he has miles to go, we are sure he will only grow as an actor, sooner than you'd think.
The Spectacular Now (2013)
A spectacular romantic film, he stars opposite the lovely Shailene Woodley. He is a hard-partying high school senior whose philosophy on life changes when he meets her.
Another highly acclaimed film, this is not a musical, but about a jazz student (drummer) whose mentor has some unconventional training methods to push him beyond the boundaries of reason and sensibility.
Bleed for This (2016)
This biographical sport film based on the life of former world champion boxer Vinny Pazienza features a comeback within a comeback. Miles' performances was highly praised in this inspiring film.
War Dogs (2016)
Starring opposite funny man Jonah Hill, the duo play two arms dealers who receive a US Army contract to supply munitions for the Afghan National Army worth approximately $300 million. This one too is based on a true story.
