One of the biggest news of 2017 in the Malayalam film circle was that for the first time in 19 years of his career, Lal Jose will be saying action & cut to Mohanlal. The hitmaker announced the news through a handwritten Malayalam note on his Facebook post. And now when Velipadinte Pusthakam is scheduled to release on August 31st, we give you three reasons why the film will be no less than an Onam sadya.
Mohanlal and Lal Jose
The biggest reason is undoubtedly their first-time collaboration. Lalettan will be playing a college professor named Michael Idikkula. According to the reports, the movie is about how the arrival of Michael brings changes to the normal routine of the campus. Interestingly, he will be seen in three different getups. While we know that one is the professor, the other two are still a mystery. According to the director, that's the surprise element in the film, which is made to cater the taste of Lalettan's fans and Malayalam movie lovers.
High Production Value
The movie is bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor for Aashirvad Cinemas. The production house only banks Lalettan's movies and their last four outings Drishyam (2013), Ennum Eppozhum & Loham (2015) and Oppam (2016) are counted as the biggest blockbusters in the last decade. Benny P Nayarambalam has written the screenplay and dialogues who, along with the director, has given hits like Chanthupottu and Spanish Masala. Vishnu Sharma, one of the most talented cinematographers among the younger crop, is handling the camera.
Shaan Rahman is in top form. The album of Velipadinte Pusthakam has already become a chartbuster. The song Eantammede Jimikki Kammal is a mass number which is the new obsession for Lalettan fans. The other tracks such as Karayum Kadalum, Manpaathakale, Mele Arimulla and Neeyum is the current favorite of the Malayali music lovers.
With all these factors, we are sure that the film will be an Onam sadya for all the Malayalees. Also, don’t forget to watch this space for our review of Velipadinte Pusthakam.
