Movie Sequels That Jumped Genres

Movies come in various genres, from action, to comedy, to drama, to horror. Within every genre, are several sub-genres in which movies are grouped. For example, sub-genres under comedy include dark comedy, romantic comedy, slapstick, parody, etc. Sometimes, it is difficult to group a movie under just one genre, as filmmakers prefer to use elements across various genres. This gives us our sci-fi adventure action thriller dramas. The mixing of genres is very popular in Hollywood, and filmmakers have even switched from one genre to the other for the same film series.
