Popular Movies That Were Based On Diaries

There are several movies based on books and comics. When it comes to diaries and memoirs however, not many exist. Some might even say that the art of writing in a diary is dying, and may altogether disappear in the next few years. But movies on famous diarists keep the pleasures of diary keeping alive. Take Anne Frank, whose gut-wrenching story is famous all over the world on account of a small diary, which details the events that took place during the Holocaust. The diary was first made into a movie in 1959, titled The Diary of Anne Frank. In 2000, a mini-series called Anne Frank: The Whole Story was created, which starred Ben Kingsley and Lili Taylor. The diary style of writing has been quite popular, with several authors writing novels in a similar format. Do your favorite diary movies feature in our list?
